Printed on heavy matte paper to give the effect of black velvet. Etoiles de Feu is an homage to the transformative elements of fire as both a force of nature and a site for collective meaning-making. As one gets closer to the print, what appear from afar as small stars reveal stills from various sequences of a performance by artist and friend, Pavi Mehta. The stills are arranged in no particular order on the solid black matte surface, giving it the appearance of scattered embers on velvet.
