Amygdala Performing "From the Air" (Laurie Anderson)

Drawing on her experience as a marching band drum major, the artist places the audience, typically ill-equipped to keep pace, under the challenge of following a rapidly shifting beat pattern led by an unreliable conductor. The relationship between the performer and the audience shifts as they become part of the performance themselves, fusing into one mechanical body moving synchronously.
