Tiresias Performing "Lyrebird"
Lyrebird is a bird drag performance that tells the story of a lyrebird that mimics and remembers the songs of extinct birds. Featuring a puppet that “beak-syncs” to actual recordings of extinct birds, the piece is a meditation on ecological loneliness. This lyrebird will be integrated into Tiresias’s next large-scale theatre project NEW WEIRD FUTURE, a speculative eco-opera that attempts to imagine futures of ecological flourishing in the ruins of capitalism and empire.
